This site keeps very little on your device. Some of it is needed for the site to work. One kind, analytics, is used only if you say yes. You can change your mind at any time.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Browsers also have two small storage areas that work in a similar way, called local storage and session storage. This page lists all three, because they all keep something on your device.
Your choice
The first time you visit, a bar at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept analytics. Accept, decline, or choose one by one. Nothing in the Analytics group is loaded or stored until you accept.
To change your answer later, use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. If you turn analytics off, the site stops using it at once and removes the analytics cookies it can reach.
What is not here
No advertising cookies.
No social media tracking pixels.
No cookies from video players: the videos on this site are served by the site itself.
Your browser's own controls
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking everything will make the cookie bar ask again on each visit, because the site cannot remember your answer.
Everything this site keeps on your device
mbc.consent (Necessary, Local storage, set by This site): Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are not asked on every page. Lasts: Until you change it or clear your browser.
mbc.contactDraft (Necessary, Session storage, set by This site): When you press a button such as Ask for a quote, carries the start of your message to the contact form. Lasts: Until you close the tab.
mbc.campaign (Analytics, Session storage, set by This site): Remembers the campaign tags on the link you arrived by, so a message you send later can be traced to the post that brought you. Lasts: Until you close the tab.
_ga (Analytics, Cookie, set by Google Analytics): Tells one visitor from another, so visits can be counted. Lasts: Up to 2 years.
_ga_ followed by an ID (Analytics, Cookie, set by Google Analytics): Keeps a visit together as you move from page to page. Lasts: Up to 2 years.
